As Brook and I began our morning run, we had to pass our neighborhood mailbox. There are always things posted on it....... babysitting signs, lost kitty signs, neighborhood parties, etc. So my interest was tweaked as I approached the brightly colored paper, wondering what was going on the neighborhood. As I got closer and read the words "The Glitter Girls" my stomach somewhat dropped and dread entered my heart.
BACKSTORY: For the past couple of days, Brynn and her friend Emily have been singing like crazy in my house. They'll go into Brynn's room and sing at the top of their lungs... any High School Musical or Hannah Montana song they can think of. I'd even heard the words "Glitter" and "Girls" being said together but I thought nothing of it. Until now."Wellllllllllll," Brook mustered.
As I approached, this is what I saw....
.Brook and I enjoy Brynn so much because she makes us laugh. Neither of us are the type to want any extra attention from people or to want the spotlight shining on us. Brynn is a different character, however, and thinks that the world loves her and that people want to watch her sing and dance and perform. I know that a few years down the road will change her and that her carefree attitude will harden, but it's fun while it lasts. Unfortunately, Brynn will not be available for her performance this Saturday night. She didn't check with her manager evidently. She has prior engagements. So unless Emily wants to be a solo act, please don't bring your blankets to the Jackson's backyard for this summer concert performance. The Glitter Girls will have to reschedule.

No wonder she didn't want to go to the cabin early, she wants some last minute practice before her first "gig". Love that girl!!
LOL! Brynn hasn't changed much since she was an adorable sunbeam! I can stil remember her singing the "beam" part of the sunbeam song with gusto. I want to be her!
So what is this? A blogging blitz? I didn't even have time to comment on your last one. Slow down woman...actually, don't. I enjoy reading about the Buhrley Bunch. But how adorable and how funny are Bryn and her friend's antics! And it's like they say "Mom's always the last one to know".
Love, Sheri
ps...I'd love to see a performance some time. Keep us posted.
This is the best-- and so great that it is recorded!! Love this girl. Seriously, so cute. I think a "glitter girl" preformance should be your next post!! Don't leave us hanging like this!
This cracks me up because it's like a little view into my own life with Addison. Did you ever read my post about the "Neighborhood Party" she threw together without letting me know. I had 15 kids show up on some random night wanting a movie and pizza because Addison passed out homemade invitations. Glad to know I'm not the only one with a "spot light" child:)
Haha! That is GREAT! Unfortunately, she is learning early that a star's life is not always her own! :) But this is too good a story not to have them put on a performance sometime!
That may just be one of the cutest things EVER!!!!! What a sweet girl. Too bad she's unavailable tonight but please let me know when the Glitter Girls will be performing again!!!!!
ps--had so much fun at camp. Caitlyn is a riot!!!!
I seriously ROLLED at this post. I think you are right, she is definitely different from you and Brook that way! Gotta love her! Nothin' wrong with having a little confidence these days! I want an update on the rescheduled performance.... you never know.... we may be watching a future "American Idol" star!! Loved it!
